The adjustment of the orifice is provided by a single actuator that operates both gates, simultaneously, in opposite directions at a rate of 1/10" per each 360° degree revolution of the actuator. As the actuator is rotated, an integral spur gear engages two opposing self cleaning gears that create a force in opposite directions, moving the orificing gates in unison, creating the orificing adjustment. This single actuator eliminates the need for dual actuators which are common to variable orificing devices currently available.
The adjusting mechanism is equipped with a gauge to indicate the degree of orificing from 0% (full open with no obstructions) to 65% maximum reduction.
Today's low NOx burners are more sensitive to poor fuel/air distribution from burner to burner. The Adjustable Orificing Valve can be one of the solutions.
